DON'T WORRY

By Hadassah Agbaps - November 19, 2016

"Ba komai" is Hausa for "No problem" "Hakuna matata" "Take a chill pill"

Relax ....God got your back!

The Bible says "Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life."Philippians 4.6-7.MSG

Worrying won't solve anything.

I'm a fussbudget by nature. I get very upset when things get out of control. Maybe it's the first daughter syndrome. To help me cope, my dad taught me how to have options in case things go wrong. For every given situation, I've learnt how to have option A, B and C. So people who don't know me well say I have a 'Ba komai' attitude. That's just my options working. Wait till I run out of ideas.....lol!

I've gotten a better coping mechanism though.

Whenever I worry, the first thing I ask myself is
"In the next ten seconds.... quickly...what's the solution to this problem?"

If I can't figure out anything within that 10 seconds, I pray about it and LET IT GO....okay maybe let go with a longer leash attached to that problem.....hahaha!
At least I try not to worry about it because worrying is obviously not giving me an immediate solution.

After a while, when I'm in a more relaxed, receptive state of mind, problem solving ideas begin to leak in.
Then I start creating my Options A, B and C....lol!

Anyway, that verse above is my secret power verse. Everytime I read it, I get calmer and I thought it'll be a good idea to share.

P.S. I use YouVersion Bible App and I am in love with the 'Message' translation. I wasn't born in the era of "Thee, thou, hath" so I don't relate well but this version has made the Bible real! Being the 'examine all things' bible reader that I am, I've examined the translation with KJV and it's on point. Give this MSG version a try and you'd see how the Bible is the Ultimate "How To" life manual!
