MY REVIEW
In Nigeria, joining and staying in the CurlyGirl Bandwagon is hard because it's difficult to find CG friendly products which are free of sulfates, silicones, mineral oils, alcohol, petrolatum, parabens, pthalates, colorants and such.
If these are absent in your shampoo, they're likely to be present in your conditioners, leave in conditioners, hair sprays and other hair care products.
It's for this reason I usually recommend gentle sulfate cleansers I've tried out and found to be suitable for natural hair care which can easily be purchased in Nigerian stores or markets.

It's not every natural in Nigeria that has the opportunity to purchase products abroad or have the money to buy relatively expensive CG friendly products.
Now for a natural in Nigeria who still insists on CurlyGirl Method for taking care of her natural hair without the added expenses or inconvenience, this conditioner is suitable.

It's silicone free, paraben free, phthalate free, color free with a mild scent (I barely notice it).

It has great slip for detangling. Wonderful for use on dry hair for detangling prior to pooing.

You all know I use ORS Replenishing Conditioner. I do because it's a protein based conditioner and my fine porous fragile hair needs all the support it can get but for regular co washing, this conditioner is preferable and is gentle enough on hair to be left in as a leave in conditioner.

It's also a good base for a deep conditioner. I sometimes mix in olive oil and aloe vera gel, apply to my hair and leave in for a while before rinsing.

It's a very good curl definer.
I put it on my damp hair and comb through with a wide tooth comb or my fingers until there isn't any white residue of conditioner on my hair. Then I oil my palms with olive oil and pat on my hair scrunching my curls a little for more definition.
It clumps my curls well and make for a well defined wash and go.

What's the drawback you may ask? So far I have none.....except for the little issue of size.
When my hair was shorter, a bottle could last a month but now it's longer, I have to be really careful not to use up a bottle in one wash session!
Thankfully, it's thicker than VO5 so there's less chance of using up more than I want to when dispensing.
So that's it folks!

I may have missed some deets you'd like to know about this product or you may have used this product with different or similar opinions....either way, do share with us in the comment section!

  1. Hi. Please, I just got a bottle of this. The only problem I have is that the expiry date is no longer visible. Can you please, help me check your bottle for how many years this conditioner is valid?

    1. Hi Tyna, I'm afraid I've thrown away my empty bottle but if I recall correctly, the expiry date was printed in black on the cover.
